Lola Troy Fiur has been an active professional photographer for over 30 years. While focusing on New York City subjects ranging from portraits to landmarks, the world has been her canvas, photographing people and landscapes throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. Lola's photographic style has evolved from having a painterly quality to a more graphic design touch. Unique to all of the works is a translucence that extends and enhances the inherent loveliness of the subject. Follow the light, has been her methodology and her advice to those grammar school children and adult art directors whom she has taught. Some of the pictures were taken with traditional 35mm cameras (including her favorite old Leica M4) and others using digital cameras.
Lola was the first photographer to win First Prize in the Washington Square Art Show (NYC) in 1983, the year that they allowed photography to be exhibited "as an art form". She also had her photos of NYC exhibited on 2 city buses, and added to the collection of the Library of Congress, by winning the Pratt Institute Bus Competition.
